TAZKIYA is a positive virtue in that it develops in man positive attributes.
Physically, it means, physical development, growth and well-being
Mentally, it stands for the development of the mind
Spiritually, it means development of the SELF

Philosophy

Through positive example and hands on experience children will maintain pure and conscious interactions with the people and environment around them. In turn, the children will achieve tazkiya, the confidence and resiliency needed to become moral, ethical and responsible members of society.

Tazkiya Playgroup inspires passion for life-long learning, fosters social and emotional growth, and develops children's creative mind. Well qualified and experienced teachers use hands-on learning throughout the curriculum. Children learn with involvement with content and lessons are presented in an experiential, hands-on approach integrated with Islamic education, research and directed discovery.

Welcome, Assalam Alaikum

Tazkiya Playgroup started 3 years ago, as an offshoot of our full time preschool program.  We have taken the highlights or our preschool program and condensed them to 2 day/week fun explorative playgroup.  The key to it's success has been the Parent Cooperative, in which all parents take on jobs as well as volunteer in class to ensure small ratios and engaging activities for the children.

Parent Cooperative
Parents will be required to stay approximately 6 days throughout the year to help in class.  On the days you will be staying, be prepared to bring snack for the children, interact, help, and play with them, as well as do some minor cleaning.  We have a NUT FREE and DAIRY FREE policy for all snack items.  Along with volunteer days, parents are also required to hold a classroom jobs like Field Trip Coordinator, Supplies Manager, Clean Up Helper, or Yearbook.  All details will be shared during the MANDATORY parent Meeting at the beginning of the year.

Location

We are located in the Babysitting Room of MCA in Santa Clara. It is adjacent to the women's entrance and the women's main prayer hall.  Although we do not get access to the playground, we have a grass area in the front which we have utilized for many group games, field activities and water play!
